Piper, a founding partner of Boston Benefit Partners, LLC (BBP), has extensive experience providing employee benefits consulting advice on the evaluation, design, communication, and implementation of group health, life, disability, and other ancillary plans. Her consulting experience spans various industries including manufacturing, food processing, software technology, financial services, mechanical and electrical construction, retail, and state and federal governmental agencies. Piper also has spent a significant amount of time working with companies going through mergers and acquisitions and those on a rapid growth path.
Specific project experience includes: lead consultant on team to assist the Massachusetts Connector Authority to provide health insurance to the uninsured small and non-group market pursuant to the State's Universal Health Care Law passed in 2006; analysis, design and implementation of benefit programs for EMCOR, a leading facilities service provider, condensing sixty-five nationwide medical plan offerings into ten; assisting the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission (GIC) to improve and market the long-term disability program offered on a fully voluntary basis to its 70,000 employees; taking over the implementation and communication of a new medical carrier for BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc., a jumbo retail client, under considerable time constraints; and managing the development and launch of a comprehensive wellness program for MAPFRE U.S.A. Corp., a large auto/homeowners insurance provider. She also works with Forrester Research Inc., Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., and Boston Private Bank and Trust.
Piper started her professional career in sales and account management. She then began her benefits consulting career at one of the large international consulting firms, later joining a regional consulting firm in Boston, Massachusetts.
Piper graduated magna cum laude from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is a licensed Massachusetts insurance broker.
She is a long-time Trustee of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter and chairs "Fashion Plates, a Fashion Show and Luncheon," an annual event to benefit the Society. In 2008, Piper was inducted into the National MS Society's Volunteer Hall of Fame for fundraising.
