Apicella, Consultant 
Daniel
Apicella joined Boston Benefit Partners (BBP) as a consultant
in August 2008. He comes to BBP having worked in a variety
of roles in health care finance and employee benefits.
Mr.
Apicella began his career in 2000 in the account management
unit of Royal and Sun Alliance, a large insurance carrier
headquartered in Liverpool England. He went on to work in
the crisis unit of a major British Hospital and the market
research and analysis division of Diversey-Lever (Unilever
group) before taking an overseas role with the British Government.
In
2005, Mr. Apicella joined the Massachusetts Group Insurance
Commission (GIC) where he served as a program manager and
senior policy analyst. At the GIC he conducted program evaluation,
cost analysis and forecasting. Mr. Apicella also played a
key role in supporting the implementation of the GIC's Clinical
Performance Improvement Initiative.
Mr.
Apicella has co-authored papers for publication on health
care cost containment and served on both the Massachusetts
Inter-Agency Research Task Force and the Health Care Quality
and Cost Council's Sub Committee for Analytics.
Mr.
Apicella has his bachelor's degree from the University of
Hull in England and a master's degree in public policy from
Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts. He is a member
of Phi Kappa Phi, the American Interdisciplinary Honors Society.
